PALS Recertification Online

This PALS Recertification course reflects the 2010 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC and ILCOR International Consensus on CPR and ECC Science with Treatment Recommendations.

 

Refresh your skills to effectively recognize and treat infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest with this online course for PALS recertification.  The PALS recertification online course utilizes a team approach and demonstrates completion in many areas including effective respiratory management, pediatric assessment along with an understanding of effective resuscitation team dynamics. With our PALS renewal online recertification course, you will enhance your knowledge and skills to efficiently identify and respond to cardiopulmonary emergencies in infants and children, resulting in improved outcomes. 

PALS recertification is completely online and no in-person tests are required.  Successful completion of the online course is needed for recertification.  Upon completion, your recertification card will arrive within five business days and will be valid for two years.  Maintaining PALS certification is a general requirement to stay current with previous credentials along with medical advancements.  Continuing education credits may be also be earned.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will I receive my certification card?

Recertification: You will receive your certification card within five business days of successfully completing your re-certification exam. If you need your card sooner, please select "expedite shipping". There is a $35 fee for express shipping. To ensure next day delivery, we must receive your “expedite shipping” request before 2:00 pm Central Time.

Initial certification: If you are taking the initial certification course you will receive your certification card upon successful completion of the skills test.

If my certification has expired, can I still take the online examination?

Yes. We provide you with online study content to help you prepare for your recertification.

What is the format and passing score of the ACLS and PALS exams?

The ACLS and PALS exams are made up of 50 multiple choice questions. You will have 90 minutes to complete the exam. The questions are based on the learning objectives and case studies of our online content. Your test is graded instantly. You must score at least 84 percent to pass.  If you don't pass the exam, you will have the opportunity to review the questions you answered incorrectly and reset and retake your exam.

I failed the exam. Now what?

You are entitled to one retake at no additional charge.  If you do not receive a passing score, you will be provided with directions to review and reset your exam online.

What is your refund policy?

Initial certification courses are 100% refundable if not approved by your employer unless you have requested continuing education credit. Contact us at 866.511.4637 within 48 hours of completing your initial exam if you are requesting a refund.

If you requested continuing education credit you are not eligible to receive a refund. We transmit your CE information to the agency you requested as soon as you complete the course and exam.

How long is my certification valid?

Once you successfully complete the course (and skills testing, if required), you will receive a certification card, which is valid for two years.

Will I earn CE hours for taking the ACLS and PALS certification or re-certification courses?

We currently do not offer Licensing and Continuing Education credits for our courses. However, we recommend you speak with a regulatory board(s), employer, or other agency to apply for credits for the successful completion of our courses. 

How do I retake an exam?  

If you don't pass an exam on the first try, you will have the opportunity to review any questions you answered incorrectly and reset your exam.  You will be able to retake the entire exam one time at no additional charge. 

Can I find out what I got wrong on the exam?

Within My HES, under Next Steps, you can select to Review an exam that you did not pass.  You will then be presented with the opportunity to reset your exam when you are ready to retake it.

Is a skills test required for recertification?

No.  The ACLS and PALS recertifications do not require an in-person skills test.  They are 100% online.

Does this course follow the 2010 American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines for CPR and ECC?

Yes.  All ACLS and PALS courses have been updated to reflect the 2010 Guidelines.  The 2010 AHA Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) contain the expert recommendations for application of the ILCOR International Consensus on CPR and ECC Science with Treatment Recommendations.
