Most of the online courses for American Heart Association certification use a blended learning approach; you learn cognitive skills through web-based, self-paced modules, and then practice and test the skills you’ve learned with an American Heart Association Instructor. Some courses, such as Bloodborne Pathogens, do not require hands-on practice or a skills test. You will earn continuing education credits as specified in each course description, and you will receive an American Heart Association course completion card when specified.
